Happy 1st Birthday, Miss E*!
It was such a pleasure to meet Miss E* and her parents. I love photographing 1 year olds and especially doing cake smashes. They are soooo much fun. Miss E* actually had an ear infection but you would never know by these pictures that she wasn't her happy beautiful self. She was so easy to photograph. Thank you Arin and JJ for giving me the opportunity to capture this special milestone in your daughter's life. I look forward to watching her grow. This family was referred to me by another client. I ♥ referrals! It really is such a great way to build our business and we appreciate it greatly.

Ideas of What to Wear for our Spring Clients
With spring sessions beginning and lots of families wanting portraits, we thought we would share some spring-y outfit ideas. It is important that your family's outfits coordinate (not match exactly) to enhance the feel of the overall picture and not take away from the subjects themselves. Also, avoid wearing all white or all black. Outfits are from Old Navy, shoes from Piperlime. Hope you have a great week!

What's a Float Wrap?
A float wrap is something new that we are offering!! It's a picture that you can hang without a frame. It stands out from the wall a bit as well. See the pictures below for a better idea.
Leaning up against the fireplace. The size of this picture is 20x24.
This is a comparison size. Sometimes you think a 8x10 looks big on a wall, but as you can see in comparison to the 20x24, it's pretty tiny.
Here's a picture of the back of a float wrap. It's secured to a stand out backer that has pre-drilled holes for hanging.
This shows you how thin a float wrap is.
And what it looks like hanging on a wall. It casts a little bit of a shadow behind it to give it depth. It looks SO awesome hanging on a wall.

Befores & Afters
Here are a few samples of my straight out of camera picture vs. my final edited version. Sometimes you don't realize how off the color can be until you see it corrected. Another one of our tricks is head swapping. When you have a large group of little ones, it's almost impossible to get everyone to look at you. Head swapping is a handy tool to know how to use, to try and fix that problem. It also comes in handy with blinkers :)

Bath time with my kids.
Sometimes getting them to take pictures is a little, um... how should I put this, challenging. Putting them in a confined area (ie: bathtub) letting them play and sing some songs, can sometimes allow me to snap a few pics of them.

Shelly's Belly Bowls - Chicago, IL
Shelly's Belly Bowls are such an amazing way to remember how much your body changed during pregnancy. My last client showed me the casting during her newborn session and I was so excited to use the cast as a little "cocoon" for her daughter. Look how cute these turned out and how she fit.
If you're looking for a fun and unique way to remember your pregnancy, I highly recommend Shelly's Belly Bowls. You can visit her website at http://shellysbellybowls.com/.

She was as sweet in person as she looks. One of the things I love about what I do, is meeting and cuddling new babies. This little one was just a sweetheart and let me play around and get lots of good shots. Thank you so much Tom & Gayle! Congratulations again!
